The growth of mobile applications will continue to grow at a record pace in 2013. As part of the bring your own device (BYOD) movement in many workplaces, the adoption of tablets at work continues to grow at a phenomenal pace. According to a recent report by ClickSoftware.com, enterprise tablet adoption will grow by 50 percent annually. In addition, 71 percent of workers surveyed use tablets as an additional device rather than a computer replacement. Overall, mobile devices will soon outnumber computers on a corporate network by a two-to-one ratio.

Growth in Mobile Enterprise Apps – CIOs around the world will continue to embrace and adapt to the BYOD reality over the coming years. A recent IDC report showed that the number of mobile workers in the Americas will grow from 182.5 million in 2010 to more than 212.1 million by 2015. In addition, Gartner says more than 40 percent of all enterprise web applications will have mobile apps by 2014, and 90 percent of companies will support corporate apps on mobile devices by 2014.
Mobile technology has been identified as a top technology initiative for 2013. Not only does mobile technology answer the market demand for multi-touch point customer experiences– but it also makes workers more efficient, drives faster decision-making, supports collaboration and improves visibility and accuracy throughout the supply chain.
